1. Plan early! – Pick a date, secure your location, and begin thinking about what you will serve for food & drinks. Get your invitations prepared and sent out at least 3-4 weeks in advance so you have a higher turnout rate.
2. Set your budget – Whether you’re looking to go all out this year or prefer a more wallet-friendly party, a budget established at the beginning will allow the planning process to go smoothly. No matter what, they all will be impressed with the level of thought you put into it.
3. Make your invite list & check it twice – Make sure to invite the right amount of people according to your budget. Keeping tabs of who RSVP’d and who will not be coming is important as well. Applications such as evite and facebook have already set programs to send invitations and receive responses with a few clicks of the mouse.
4. Don’t forget the details – For parties where guests are not familiar with each other, utilize a sign-in sheet to your advantage, you’ll know who showed and can follow up post-party. Name tags, take-home gift bags, and or games are great ideas to keep the party fun.
5. Recruit staff to help you on the big day – Whether you choose to have assistance setting up, watching the hot cocoa station or taking pictures during the party it’s important to get help.
