Calgary reads lined up since 7 o'clock!

It’s all happening here at Calgary Curling Club with CBC Calgary…

The annual fund raising event for Calgary Reads kicked off TODAY and what a turnout! Line-up started at 7am! Comevisit today till 9pm.
Then, on Saturday May 23, Midnight Madness (9am to midnight) is back by popular demand. From 6-8pm, youngsters are invited to wear their jammies and enjoy milk and Girl Guide cookies while listening to readings by special guests. Grownups take over from 9-11pm, as Date Night switches up the vibe, with a cash wine bar and some seductive book-shopping music by Midnight Blue.

CBC – Calgary Reads Book Sale

Mark your calendars, start cleaning off your bookshelves and get set for the next big book sale. This is the 11th year for this huge springtime book sale. This yearly sale is the primary fundraiser for Calgary Reads. Proceeds from the sale fund our programs that help young struggling readers learn to read. Thousands of books organized by category, are for sale each day and there are no limits on the number of books you can purchase. Come and browse through the tables of bargains and treasures!

The CBC Calgary Reads Book Sale at the Calgary Curling Club: 720 3 St NW (on the north side of Memorial Drive) – right behind our office!!

Friday, May 10 Noon – 8 pm

Saturday, May 11 9 am – 6 pm

Sunday, May 12 9 am – 4 pm

Admission: $2 per person, children are free
Free parking is available at the Curling Club but it is limited. There is a pay parking lot on the east side of the Curling Club.

Do you have books to donate?

Donations of clean, gently-used books are welcome. We have two donation locations:

Calgary Curling Club

Saturday, April 27 – Sunday, May 5
Saturdays and Sundays: 9 am – 4 pm
Monday to Friday: 9 am – 8 pm
